The Assessment Clinic at the Child Study Center specializes in comprehensive psychoeducational assessments of children ages 8 to 16. Assessments involve ability and achievement testing, a structured diagnostic interview, computerized assessment for inattention, and a number of self report and parent report measures. Children
After entering school, certain problems in children may become more apparent or acute. The staff of the Child Study Center specializes in the assessment and treatment of school-aged children for a wide range of difficulties, including:
- Academic and/or behavior problems
- Depressed, withdrawn behavior
- Disruptive, aggressive, defiant behavior
- Fears, anxiety, and phobias
- Hyperactivity and attention problems
- Learning disabilities
- Pervasive developmental problems
Adolescents
Adolescence is a time of rapid growth and intense psychological development during which tasks of separation, independence, and individuation become important, and during which conflict with parent, peers, and society may develop. The Child Study Center provides assessment and treatment for adolescents related to the following concerns:
- Academic and/or behavior problems
- Alcohol and drug abuse
- Anxiety and phobias
- Delinquent behavior
- Depression
- Parent-adolescent conflict
- Pervasive developmental problems
